| About this Article Below: This topic, "Discernment of Spirits" involves what happens when I have spiritual communication with souls who are no longer in thier physical body. As a medium I am able to communicate directly to the souls of our loved ones who are no longer in the physical body. With this gift comes the responsibility to be able to discern what information is coming through and from whom. Pure & positive knowledge should always be received through God to us. The negative information, if at all, should be discerned with caution and always result in the higher good for everyone. Please know that this is my story. Discernment of Spirits By Rebecca Anne LoCicero (c) What is Discernment of Spirits? It is a statement made in the Bible (1 Corinthians 12:10) that describes one of the many gifts the Holy Spirit gives us. Discernment is partly described as being able to accept and interpret information. All information, the good and the bad!! This is an inner conscious connection to the ‘just knowing’ if someone or something, such as a thought or concept, is right or wrong. One can discern what is true and what is not. There are good spirits and bad energies; because of this it is important to be able to have this ability when communicating with the spiritual realm. It is the truthfulness through discernment that I receive when I talk to the dead. This gift is my way to protect myself from the evil and false information that could come through. I believe that I have two very large guardian angels behind me that use their wings to help filter the information for me. I do not read negative or false information nor do I receive information about illness or death. This discerning happens through the energy involved in the connection before I communicate with the spirit. I do not hold back on anything I receive. Whether it makes sense at the moment or not, I cannot lie about what I receive, I just play the role of the messenger. In doing this it is important to note that when I do connect with someone I immediatly ask them from my heart if they are with God. Naturally gifted since childhood. As a child, I was often speaking with my own dead relatives. There were times when I would make comments about what I had seen or heard and the information was completely accurate. Before I could write I was talking to the dead. This continued until adolescence, stopped briefly but not totally and then resumed again once I entered my 20’s. I know of many children who currently have an open and aware sense of the spiritual realm. Children often speak to the dead and feel it is normal and comfortable. Once adulthood sets in, one must trust that inner feeling that their loved ones are around. Acknowledgment and confirmation is so important. Describing the actual process of communication. I must say that it is always important to remember that we are all human and that the actual act of communication with another realm is quite unexplainable. There are a lot of theories and possibilities and explanations. For myself I just believe that it is true, I know it is there and I acknowledge that it is a gift for me to share. I have no true answer to how it ‘really’ happens. Physically I feel high vibrational energy connecting to my body. My energy level rises and sometimes I have to stand-up or move around to gain focus. It is a good feeling that often comes on suddenly. I often use my ability to channel with automatic writing to concentrate on the information as it comes. This is how I know that someone is connecting to me. I can ignore this feeling and it will go away. While channeling I slow down my mind so I can receive the messages coming through. I am not in a trance; I am not doing a séance. I am completely awake and fully aware of what is happening. I can then see with my minds eye the location that the information is coming from. I sense the information in many ways, such as sight, sound, smell, etc… and relay it as best I can for the person for whom the information is for. This is all happening with the help of the Holy Spirit to guide me to understand and interpret the connection fully. Because there is no time in Heaven, the spirit has no boundaries to the impressions or information that I receive. Meaning, the person may appear old, young, loud or quiet, shy or any other temperament or description to confirm that it is them. A few commonalities seen with each connection is good health, happiness, and an outpouring of love. It is important to consider that there is some connection to the way that they meet with me; a pattern that matches many other medium’s techniques. When someone comes through the Mothers and family are on your right side and Fathers and family on the left. The energy around us all is in motion and very vibrational. (This is a great time for spirit photography. Snapping many pictures in a row to catch the orbs left in the energy field.) Remember, where they are has no concept of time, so there is a connection with our world that does not follow the laws of conversations. Information is implanted, not a memory to recall and it comes instantaneously and repetitively. Interpretation can be shady at times or even confusing as I am still in my human body with a human way to understand. The Holy Spirit helps me to slow down my vibrational field to allow the information to connect to my spirit. It is quite the combination of faith and science. It is a supernatural experience that at it's moment is undescribable. Where did these gifts come from to begin with? I believe that God, as the higher power, has instilled in me a connection to the Holy Spirit that works in direct relationship to my soul. This can be described backwards as well. The self spirit, that I call my soul, has a connection to the universal energy. This universal energy holds the ability to send and receive knowledge. We all know there are many techniques to learn how to do this ‘tapping in’. With the help from God’s ‘higher power’, that I call the Holy Spirit, I am able to discern this information. I am able to receive, interpret and share. Is it quantum physics, energy, molecules; or is it something more mystical? I believe it to be a beautiful and spiritually fulfilling supernatural experience. Angels and Guides I will accept any information for a client from whichever source it comes from. When I receive information I trust that I can discern for my client that the information is for their highest good. I have had many beautiful healing and learning experiences involving information I receive from angelic beings. The accurate and inspirational communication is unique in its intention for one’s spiritual growth in life. The guides are vast and varied. They could be loved ones we lost who are now our guides, or guardian angels. They are also important Christian souls from the past such as saints and prophets, they are gods from Egyptian and Middle Eastern lands, they are often mythical by definition or even animals with human animation. I have even had some situation where the guide was just indescribable. Regardless of who they are, I accept the information from them for my clients as important for them on their life path. I trust in God. You are connected?. If you can acknowledge that there is something beyond and within your human body then you have a connection. If you have a soul, you are connected. God loves us equally; in turn he makes sure that each of us has the same connection to him through the Holy Spirit. Acknowledgment and acceptance of the fact that there is a connection that is full of love and peace is the simple way to accept the gifts that you have always had. Your soul, your life energy has always been there and always will be connected to God’s higher power and universal energy. This also explains how our loved ones are not really dead, they are just back in spirit. Where are the dead people that I talk to? Who knows? God knows. The dead people, they know where they are. I believe they are in a place, a consciousness that is full of love and pure information. They love us and miss us so they make sure to be around us. We are all part of the same energy and love that connects us to this place where they are. I believe it is heaven. Until I die, I will not know for sure what happens. I believe that we leave earth when we leave our body. We shed our outer energy as it is no longer needed. The soul retains all memory and becomes all knowing as the information from the dead I have spoken with are without physical form. I also believe we might reincarnate if we so choose. (reincarnation, a Very Debatable Topic) There is a lot of unknown and improvable information about the afterlife. They are somewhere at peace, with other souls, happy, loving and always wanting the best for their loved ones. |
